Installation procedure

To install the USB 2.0 drivers:

  1. Log in as root.
  2. Download the USB 2.0 driver archive (QNX4-USB-2.0-20051114.tgz).
  3. Backup the existing USB drivers.
Note: If you wish to keep a copy of the existing drivers and utilities, you'll need to save them in a safe location first, to prevent them from being overwritten during installation.

    # cp -Rvc /bin/devu* /backupdir

  4. Get the checksum to ensure that the binary is correct:

    # cksum QNX4-USB-2.0-20051114.tgz

  5. Compare the result against the checksum posted on your myQNX account.
  6. Extract the archive with the updated drivers:

    # cd /
    # gzip -d <download-path>/QNX4-USB-2.0-20051114.tgz
    # tar -xvof <download-path>/QNX4-USB-2.0-20051114.tar

The following driver will be installed:

    • /bin/devu-kbd
    • /bin/devu-mouse
    • /bin/devu-prn
    • /bin/io-usb
    • /bin/usb
    • /bin/Fsys.umass

  7. Make sure that the binaries are executable:
      # chmod 775 /bin/devu* /bin/*usb* /bin/Fsys.umass
      # chown root:root /bin/devu* /bin/*usb* /bin/Fsys.umass
