What's in this patch?

This patch provides support for the following touchscreens:

  • Egalax: Resistive Controllers (4/5/8 wire)
  • ELO: All USB ELO controllers
  • Microtouch: SC-400, SC-500, SC-800 Series
  • Touch International: DMC TSC-10

The patch contains updates to the following binaries:

  • /bin/devu-elo
  • /bin/devu-microtouch
  • /bin/devu-touchintl
  • /bin/devu-egalax
  • /bin/Input

Starting the drivers

To start the drivers, run the Input driver using the generic module. For example:

# devu-elo &
# Input generic fd -d/dev/elousb0 &

Generic interface for non-serial/PS2 touchscreens

The Input driver has a new module that uses a generic packet format that lets you implement your own drivers if needed. The external driver must use the following protocol in order for the generic driver to function correctly.

The default number of bits for each coordinate is 14, but you can use the -B command-line option to change it. If you don't use all 14 bits, make certain that the values that aren't used are set to 0.
